We, the undesigned, wish to register our objection to the development of the Plaza Hotel Project on the borders of Bellapais and Ozankoy. Planning permission has been granted without consideration for the environmentalimpact on this quiet area: noise and air pollution, inadequate infrastructure, the intrusion into the privacy of local residents and the risk to our children. Residents were not consulted prior to permission being granted which is in contravention of EU Directives on which the Environmental Policy Statement for the TRNC was based and approved by the Council of Ministers 15.02.2006. We also object to further applications to increase the size of the hotel (250beds)and for a gaming licence for this project, and for the alleged creation of a new quarry in an area of outstanding beauty above the village, further developments spoiling the Crusader Trail Ravine and other unsuitable hotel projects in the area for which no prior consultation with the public has been allowed.
